Gabby’s 1st Bday!

At long last! Pictures and kwento and supplier’s ratings from Gabby’s 1st Dora-themed bday party! It was a blast! At first, the praning mommy that i am, medyo nagwoworry pa ko na baka walang pumunta sa party ni gabby. Pero kahit na madami din ang hindi nakapunta, sobrang masaya ang party ni Gabby. Im sure if Gabby could talk na, she will agree with me hehehe… all my suppliers delivered well and i am very grateful at hindi nagkatotoo ang panaginip ko hehehe…

Gabby enjoyed posing for pictures, playing with the balloons, going up the stage, entertaining the guests (hehehe). Since it’s a Dora-themed party, i dressed her up like Dora! Purple shirt, orange pants and a violet backpack!

kids surely enjoyed the facepainting, the 30-minute magic show, the games, the prizes, the chocolate fountain, the cupcakes and the pinata! and ofcourse, the meryenda buffet! yum yum!

and now my supplier’s ratings:

• balloon decor, (rented) tarpauline, swags – PartyTime Philippines – i have known Mel (the owner) from NewlyWedsAtWork yahoogroups. We only met once when we finalized all the details. Mabilis sila magset up ng decors, and as a birthday present to Gabby, she upgraded the table centerpiece to a bigger mylar balloon. She gives reasonable price too. And i super appreciate na nagpastay sya ng 2 of her guys to assist us with the party. They helped with the games (pagbuhat ng mga kiddie chairs during the magic show, distribute the prizes, etc..) and the pulling of the pinata. Even if i didn’t pay for those services ha. I just gave the guys tips kasi di ata sila nakakain hehehe…
• chocolate fountain – Party Time Philippines – i got the smallest chocofountain kasi konti lang naman ang guests namin. It was reasonably priced, infact, theirs is the cheapest among all the other chocofountain suppliers. Included in the package are the wafers, stick-o, fudgeebars, grapes, banana, pineapples, mini-cupcakes.
• Dora Cake – Goldilocks – i love the icing! it’s not too sweet! masarap sya! it’s looks like fondant pero it’s icing!
• Dora cupcakes – Party Time Philippines – masarap din sya. i got 30 pcs only para sa mga kids.
• face painter – c/o Ryan – actually, nalimutan ko ang name ng facepainter ko hehehe… i only met him that day. hindi pa nga sya actually yung talagang kausap ko. nagback out ung si Ryan (i think i got his contact # from pinoyexchange Parenting 101 thread or N@W yahoogroups) on the same day and buti na lang he didn’t give me a headache at sya na lang ang naghanap ng kapalit nya. Sulit ang bayad ko sa kanya kasi parang di ata sya nakapagpahinga kasi even adults nagpafacepaint sa kanya hehehe…
• Magician- Slydon – sobrang tuwang tuwa ang mga kids (and adults!) sa kanya. tuloy tuloy ksi ang show nya. music-coordinated pa. before magstart ang party, habang yung mga guests e naghihintay pa sa kanilang kinauupuan, he would go to the guests and do card tricks. tapos sa mga kids naman, lalapitan nya din and magbaballoon twist sya. I got him for a very reasonable price. Enjoy talaga ang show nya.
• Emcee – Deborah – Debo is actually a highschool friend. She was one of my wedding coordinators. She donned a purple turtleneck shirt and a jumper (parang Dora! katuwa!). Magaling sya maghost and she’s great with kids! I got her for a presyong-magkaclassmate nung highschool hehehe…
• Food/Party Area – Dad’s Restaurant, ATC – forP167 per head, i think the over 25 meryenda dishes plus unlimited iced tea is a great deal. The only set back is that i am bound to pay a guaranteed 100 pax. Meaning even if my total number of guests is less than 100, i still need to pay for 100. Kaso, parang napansin ko na nagtanggal kagad sila ng ibang pagkain dun sa buffet area even before 5pm (meryenda buffet starts at 3pm till 5pm). Pero oks lang naman. Dun pala sa P167, Vat Inclusive na din yun pero may additional pa pala na P3 / head for the moist towel. Hindi pwedeng hindi mo kunin ang moist towel dahil daw wala naman silang service charge hehehe… they also didn’t charge me for the corkage of chocofountain (or they probably forgot about it hehehe). Ang complain ko lang is mahina ang aircon. Pero what they did naman is they gave us the whole Kamayan area so lumaki ang space namin.
• Photographer – CJ Photography – i also got them from N@W. They are the most reasonably priced and we liked their service. Ang daming shots! Over 400 ata. Tuwa ang mga guests sa kakapose. Parang never ending. hehehe…
• Prizes – Divisoria Mall / Shopwise (chocolates) – syempre san pa ba ang puntahan ng mga mommies when they want to look for a whole lot of varieties for parties? Malulula ka sa Divisoria Mall. Ang dami at ang mura! kakatuwa! Lahat ng mga characters meron dun. So kahit anong theme ang maisip mo, meron sila! For the choco prizes, na-timing-an ko na may sale ang Shopwise. Some imported items which are originally priced at almost P100 per piece (like 1 box of bazooka or betty boop lollipop, or the candy necklace) i only got for P15! imagine that! at hindi sya expired, mind you hahaha…
