Last Saturday, we attended the Family Day at my husband’s workplace. Free food, magic show, inflatable slides, souvenirs for kids, and give aways! What really made me excited was the fairytopia costume contest! I love dressing up Gabby, coz she looks cute in anything! When Richard told me na fairytopia nga ang theme, naisip ko agad puro fairies with wings. Pero it’s not naman pala limited to fairy costume lang, anything na fairy tale character e pwede. Nung una, inisip ko na mag-fairy na lang sya, kasi i always see a colorful fairy costume with little wings at Festival mall pag dumadaan kami dun. Pero walang size nya. Medyo malaki na ang size na andun, walang pang-1 year old. So isip isip isip ako ng fairy tale character… what about Little Red Riding Hood? Sabi ni Richard “fairy tale ba yun?” LOLZ. At talagang ginoogle pa namin. So anyways, bumili ako ng red na tela at pinatahi ko sa aming neighborhood mananahi. I also bought her a red balloon dress, and a pair of white shoes. Syempre nag-dress rehearsal kami —- complete with props! A basket with baguettes covered with checkered cloth! Super cute!

So anyways, nung Saturday nga, we had her registered, and as expected, all the other kids are in a tinkerbell costume! except Gabby! which makes her stand out! hehehe… she’s very comfortable kasi and hindi sya nagtantrums, and i can see na natutuwa yung mga ibang tao dun na makakita ng bulinggit na naka-red costume palakad lakad with her basket. Pinresent ang mga kids on stage and Gabby is the smallest and youngest contestant.

After the presentation, we went out to get our snacks, not really expecting na Gabby will win anything, kahit consolation prize. I’m just happy na hindi sya umiyak or nagtantrums nga and she seems to be enjoying herself. Until sinundo ako ni Richard kung san ako nakapila kasi one of the organizers is looking for Gabby. So yun nga, we went back and sabi nila dun “nanalo si little red riding hood!!” hehehe… i am so happy i am almost teary-eyed LOLZ. So ayun, akyat ulit ng stage si Gabby, this time with her dad. And we lived happily ever after hehehe….

Gabby received a tea-party set (actually suitable for 3 year old kids) hehehe pero Gabby loves it. She plays with it everyday, pretending she’s preparing tea for her playmate Dora. hehehe…

So that is how it feels to be a stage mother… but daddy firmly told Gabby “Gabby… that will be your first and last stage appearance”. LOLZ.
